SIMRS Radiology Module: Orders, Expert Reports, and Result Integration

The Radiology module completes the facility’s diagnostic supporting services: radiology exams are ordered from the clinical flow, reported by specialists, and results return to the patient’s medical record. This flow takes radiology out of paper and manual queues, so referring doctors get actionable results faster.

Radiology orders directly from the clinical flow

Doctors create radiology exam orders directly from the clinical flow, just like laboratory orders. Orders carry the information the radiology unit needs (examination type, patient, and related visit) so there are no separate forms to retype and no requests lost on a desk.

Expert reports with radiologist (Sp.Rad) validation

Examination results are reported through expert reports that go through radiologist (Sp.Rad) validation before being returned to the clinical flow. Validated reports are the results ready for the referring doctor to read; drafts never mix with final results. When corrections are needed, reports can go through an amendment process with a clear trail.

BAPETEN radiation dose recording

The module records radiation doses of examinations and supports exporting dose data in CSV format as needed for BAPETEN reporting. Dose recording helps facilities monitor patient radiation exposure and prepare regulator-required reports without manually summarizing paper logs.

Critical findings and contrast

Findings requiring immediate action can be flagged as critical findings so the clinical team does not miss them, and contrast usage information (including related allergy history) is recorded in the examination flow. Both protect patient safety at the points where risk is most real.

SATUSEHAT push for examination results

Radiology examination results can be sent to SATUSEHAT through ServiceRequest and DiagnosticReport resources. This flow has passed live validation. This integration makes the radiology module part of the facility’s interoperability readiness, prepared within the implementation package together with SATUSEHAT integration.

Who uses this module

Doctors create orders and read results; radiographers and radiology staff manage exam execution; radiology specialists write and validate reports; and management monitors radiology service volume and quality. Access is role-based.

One data set, one flow

Radiology reads and fills the same data as other modules. Orders arrive from the clinical flow with patient and visit information; validated results return to the medical record and can be sent to SATUSEHAT; and examination costs can enter the patient’s invoice. The radiology unit works on the same request list the referring doctor sees, so examination status can be answered without tracing paper forms.

Getting started with this module

The module can start from the facility’s core needs first, then grow in phases. In line with HealthCore’s implementation principles. In the early phase, the facility team prepares the radiology exam catalog, defines the expert report and validation flow, then trains radiology staff and doctors on that flow. Role-based training, go-live support, and data migration are quoted separately from subscription pricing, so the facility starts from the highest-impact flow without changing every process at once.
